Greetings. Looking at a 2015 s-Class 550 4 matic. It has 95k miles on it. Asking price from dealer is $38K with no dealer fees only Tax, Tag and Title. Is this a good buy?

 

If it is in great condition, well-maintained, and well-optioned then yes it is a good buy. I would say that price is about market average.

Buyer beware, you should budget a few $$$$ for repairs that will be inevitable at that mileage.

 

I paid $47k for my higher spec ($120k new) S550 with 30k miles in Dec, 2020. $38k sounds a bit high with those miles, but I do realize the car market is stupid right now. The stupidity was in its infancy stage when I bought mine. You may want to consider purchasing a good after-market exclusionary warranty, especially starting with those kind of miles. Also make sure that car has rock solid service records. If you cannot verify service records, then stay away from it.

The one thing I would make sure is brand new on that car is brakes/pads/and rotors. The W222 is a solid car but the maintenance and upkeep of wear and tear items are the main issue. Like the other poster said, make sure the records line up with the deal. These vehicles are awesome but they demand lots of love and care. As far as the price, I think it is a fair price.
