Active brake assist seems to be malfunctioning?
I think the active brake assist on my w222 is malfunctioning again. I tested it out by tailgating a car in front and all i get is the red triangle warning icon flasing on my dashboard. The warning beeping sound never went off at all. Neither did the car attempt to brake itself when I pushed it further by closing up the gap with the car in front... i was literally inches away from a collision. I know this is a dangerous way to test it out but i do not know of a better way to do it.
Also, is the active brake assist system supposed to detect the prescence of a stationery vehicle? I tried the same approach on a stationery vehicle, but the active brake assist system did not react at all. the red triangle warning icon did not even show up on the dashboard when I drive real close to a frontal stationery vehicle.
I had the active brake assist system set at the highest sensitvity, "Early", all this while.
Would greatly appreciate your input on this. Thx for reading.
Cheers
