Mercedes Me Connect - connect your profile didn't work in car
OK this was strange. I tried to do this in the car but it didn't see a connection. 20 minutes later, with the car off and locked, I had my phone sitting on my desk and just tried it again and it worked.

Yeah do that. Set up an insain expensive account at a horrendous carrier with bad reception and you shall instandly forget the 1 click option on your favorite cellphone immediately.
Also order that Tracktrace thingy option in their "Store" so when your car gets stolen you first have to EMAIL Mercedes Me the policeofficers reportnumber BEFORE Mercedes Me takes ANY action..
