Tying down the trunk lid ?
This is my first car with a motorized trunk lid. I've moved it up and down a couple times by hand and can feel resistance from the mechanism, so it doesn't seem to be meant to swing freely.
Now I need to transport a piece of furniture that will stick out a little in back. Can I safely pull the lid down by hand and then tie it down to keep it from bouncing up and down? Any chance of damaging the mechanism from this?
Checked the manual and all it says is Mercedes recommends driving with the trunk in the closed position.
