SWITCH STUCK IN SPORT MODE

My sport/comfort switch is locked in Sport mode, and will not make the change when pressing the C button.

Is this software related, or perhaps a defective switch ?

This should be the best stuck ever although you would not need Sport mode all the time at all

Well, it's hard to tell from here but a software glitch should have more possibility over a button failure

If we are talking about your 2003 MB then my money is on a bad switch. In service for 19 years is a good run.

You can remove switch block to check for proper switch operation but may be best to have someone pull fault codes using MB diagnostics could be failing sensor.

The vehicle described should default to C mode at every startup as configured from factory (button working or not). When did this behavior start?

So this was about your suspension mode I guess? If so disregard all I have said so far as I thought this was about transmission mode.
