Turning the Navigation OFF

I NEVER use the car navi. EVER EVER EVER. Put an address in, changed my mind and I swear to mo!@#$%^&*()ing God I was about to break every single thing in the cabin looking for a SIMPLE END NAVIGATION button. Not just the VOICE which there seems to be be 57 youtube videos about, THE ENTIRE THING. STOP NAVIGATION. PERIOD. GIVE ME PEACE.

I just got out of the car, TURNED IT OFF and turned it back on and it is STILL there! This is pure insanity. I looked everywhere. Every knob. Every button. EVERY SINGLE SCREEN. THE SERVICE MANUAL....NOTHING!!!! Please tell me what the magic secret is. My life depends on it.

What year is your car? In mine while on the nav screen you press right on the COMAND wheel, and then push down to select "CANCEL ROUTE GUIDANCE", don't see how it could be any simpler.

2015. Pushing down on the wheel did nothing. Obviously tried that along with everything else under the sun.

Press the voice control button on the steering wheel and say "Cancel route guidance". Easy peasy. You have a lot to learn young Jedi.

Page 109 of your COMAND manual

Google is a beautiful thing... just google "2015 Mercedes S550 manual", all the manuals are available for download and can be searched, etc.

Tried that.

I said "end navigation" and it did nothing. I guess once I get past young Jedi I will expand my Mercedes vocabulary to include such common phrases.

Saying "end route guidance" is not exactly something anyone who isn't a robot would think of IMO. But maybe that is just me.

So outside of using the voice commands, how would one manually turn off the navigation easy peasy?

You may wanna start by telling us what actual car you have and specifically the model year. Things change over the years and the technology evolves. Somebody already posted how to do it above for the older COMAND system. The FL S Class has a newer COMAND system, so to give you a good answer you need to help us help you by giving clear information instead of yelling. When I press the voice control button in my car with the newer COMAND system it displays a list of commands I can say and "Cancel route guidance" is part of that. I just needed to read, but it's a common command that worked on my previous non-Mercedes as well.

Dude, I posted the page from your manual with the instructions. You gotta try and swim on your own at least a little here. You not being able to figure out your car is not our problem lol. Took me 2 minutes to Google and find it.

You’ll also have to build your own light saber... all things in good time.

OP still hasn’t divulged what year and model his car is. (Big secret that is!) I had a voice control module die in one of my former Mercedes.... were that unable to work he *should be able to get to a resolution via the spinny wheel.

Given how they barged in here, all screaming and wielding their light saber, kicking down the door, they seem to have that part covered

And now that they have their answer, we'll hear nothing more. I feel like a dime store hooker lol

Can you imagine hoe frustrating it is to work at a dealership and have these egotistical MB owners come in yelling and screaming about something that they simply are doing wrong? Whatever happened to "hey, I can't get this to work can you help me?" and "Wow thanks so much"?
