Best model year?

Wish I could say I disagree with anything he said, but I can't. I'm an example of someone who is still on the fence about the V2 or my 2017 V1 W222. If I decide to let go of my 2017, it will be for an S63; this car is equipped EXACTLY like I want mine, even the right color. I'M JEALOUS

The 2018 App has car location, start/stop, lock/unlock, valet mode, horn/lights, Curfew Minder, Speed Alert, Travel Zones, Driving Journal, Send2Benz
Some questions:
How do you turn off the radio? Is there a way or is the most you can do is mute it?
How do you permanently disable start and stop? I know there is a button on the center console that you can press but it seems to turn back on when you turn on the car.

Permanently disabling stop/start requires coding. Search out BenzNinja.
Does that power button only turn off the radio/entertainment system or the whole COMMAND screen? If I am not mistaken, when I press that button the whole COMMAND screen turns off. I'll double check though.
It's a fabulous car, in Emerald Green Metallic, and I hope to own it and drive so long as I am competent to do so. I am in my early 90s, so... Milady, whose DD is a Lexus RX, says she will keep the 560 after I'm out of the picture.
I'm definitely a Minimalist when it comes to options: Could not care less about wheel size - perhaps out of ignorance, or design. Never use sunroof, radio, HUD doesn't work with Polaroid glasses so don't have. Use cruise and Distronic all the time I can. Never use lane assist. Switching driver displays can be confusing, but seldom do it. Nav is good, had it upgraded at last service.
High performance has no appeal; comfortable ride is paramount, and we have that in spades.
I have some backseat options I was forced into due to my interior choice. I don't like the light colors on surfaces where we put our hands, but that was an MB decision, not mine. Incomprehensible to me.
As nothing is ever perfect I would give our S560 a B+++, perhaps an A- -.
Is there a way to completely switch off the air-conditioning? I don't mean the A/C compressor while leaving the fans on but switching off the fans, A/C, everything? Our 2009 S-Class had an "OFF" button to completely switch off the air-conditioning and fans but in this car I only see a button to turn off the A/C compressor.

The other side of it is almost all 450s lack any of the leather upgrades, and the basic leather is not nice feeling...
In 2001 we bought a brand new 2001 E240. In 2009 we bought a brand new 2009 S350. And now, in 2024, we have this car.
I have to say, there is a massive power difference with this car vs. our last two Mercedes-Benz cars. This thing is FAST. The thrust is addictive.
One note/concern: There is quite a bit of road/tire noise while driving. Is this because of the run-flat tires?

One note, you can now buy run flat tires that are manufactured with foam inside the tires. The foam dampens raod noise in all situations; smooth roads, bumps, even in the rain. That way you keep the run flats, and reduce road noise. They're expensive, but if it's worth it to you it might be a good choice.
Oh, and somewhat on the same topic, I see where some Lexus models claim to have noise-reducing wheels.

The W223 S550 comes standard with tires that reduce road noise, Bridgestone Turanzas. I can't remember if they were run flat or not, but they definitley reduced road noise. I have to admit, I really liked that feature. That car was whisper quiet up to 70 mph, even on less than perfect roads.
One of the reasons I liked Continental DSW06+ tires is they were quieter than Michelin PS tires, and MUCH quieter than similar Pirelli's, none of those three had foam inserts.

I had the Continental DSW06+ on the W222, and have the same on the X7 now. Those are the best tires I ever have; absolutely quite and super comfortable. I tested 5 different brands/sets of tires between two W222 I owned. The DSW06+ is absolutely the best option. TireRack also shows some tests comparing them against other brands, and the DSW06+ ranks among the best if not the best last time I checked their pro tests.
When I go to replace them I will seek out foam filled tires just in case they do in fact help.
