Questions before completing a CarMax purchase

Have you even said what you’re paying for this? What kind of warranty are you getting? How many years? How many miles? You might be better off with a C class.

Comfort and quiet are my number one criteria. I’ve driven recent E-classes and want something better.

To compare
Purchased 7/26/22
2020 S560 4Matic
less than 4,000 miles Diplomatic car (yes, really)
$96,000 plus $5,000 to extended warranty 5 years
And I think that price might be a little high
i think for 51,000 miles your price should be lower.
My previous S class bought 2010 maybe was 2004 S500 4Matic bought at private dealer with 30,000 miles price maybe $38,000?
Consider I paid $96K for mine with no obvious defects but some minor work done in first two months.

Market is still crazy and I need a car before long.

2015. Yes, I agree. It doesn’t seem to have depreciated enough. At some point a new model makes more sense (we do not like the W223). The price is inflated mostly due to the available warranty. MB performs the repair work.

You’re buying an old Mercedes because you need a car?

I guess the old saying of nothing drives like an S-Class stays true, hopefully OP can find something within their budget and also problem free.

My 2004 S500 did not have a lot of problems, but I’m glad I spent more on my 2020 S560 with lower mileage and fewer problems. There will be other cars that come along in your price range.
