Burmester 3D Surround Settings
What settings do you all use for Burmester 3D Surround?
I’ve have been testing different settings for about a week or more now and my findings are:
I’ve have been testing different settings for about a week or more now and my findings are:
- The Surround 3D mode is weird and causes the sound to not be that clear.
- The “Surround” mode (surround only) sounds to be the best with Bass at 7 and treble at 2, sound quality was the best.
- Then I also turned the VIP seats setting on and selected (Driver) and that has given me the best sound quality and am very happy with it. Yes it does sound like a system that worth 5-6K USD now. Much better than BMW B&W 3D system.

I've only rented W222s, but VIP is an absolute must (every car should use the butt sensor to enable this). From there, I preferred the normal or live setting.
As I search for W222s to buy I'm still on the fence about the high end sound option.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
used they are hard cars to find with this option. No way new would I pay over 6 grand for the option. I have a 2019 e class with the regular Burmester and I’m happy with that. Ya it’s nice to get into my S class with the 3d audio as it does sound better but not over 6000 dollars better lol.

Sounds like both of you prefer the Live over Surround. Certainly Surround 3D was terrible, but surround-only sounded great. Is there a reason you liked Live better than Surround? Surround gave the sound a bit more depth and also made it feel like am setting in a concert which sounds good... thoughts?

My experience is a little bit different. Others can confirm, but with the 3D High End sound system, my S560 seems to be able to isolate road noise way much better than what my former S550 did without 3D high end. I don't know the noise-cancelation feature is better in the 3D High-end Burmester than the standard one? or if it is the impact of using Surround sound mode? or if the insulation the facelift has become better? But in all cases I certainly don't hear any road noise even when on highway with the music turned on..... I also have to admit that my current S560 comes with Non-run flat instead of RF in my former S560, but am about to buy all-season tires now that will be RF... I just hate to be on the side road without a spare and with non-run-flat.

While my 15 S550 does not have the 3D System, my 20 GLS450 does. Had it on the Surround, but after reading in other threads tried Live this weekend, where it will stay. VIP driver, Bass 1, Treble 2, Balance centered.

Been wondering the same thing as far as eq settings go. I think mine is currently at +7 +2 +3 on eq. I agree that 3d surround was kind of underwhelming. When I switched to surround and played a dark side of the moon from a flac file I was blown away with the surround. "Live" is a close 2nd but is just off for me, 3d doesn't seem to be doing much for me.
