Mud flaps?

First time owner of a 2020 S560. Thoroughly am enjoying the new ride. What are your thoughts on adding mud/splash flaps? I've put them on practically all my other vehicles to help protect the body, but don't want to detract from the aesthetics of the car. Please share your opinion.

I tried them and did not like how they look. Make sure you check real life photos first.

I've had mud flaps on most of the family cars. This is because we sometimes drive on dirt roads and during the winter, sometimes sand is spread on smaller paved roads too. Have them for the 223 too but have not installed yet.

On the 221 I had them painted to the body colour. Should be less distracting on the black (granite grey) car but cannot avoid some loss of aesthetics. Less from the front flaps that protect the sides but I think the rear bumper actually mostly needs protection.

I'd say only few need mud flaps.

I don't like them either , reminds me of 18 wheelers but it does serve accordingly though

Yes they look alright on a black S-Class or a white one with black trim. The china ones work perfect & fit great. They appear to use similar MB factory molds and can be had for under $100 USD a set.

These photos were taken prior to the vehicle being washed and have since made it thru several automated car washes unharmed. No additional wind noise or fuel economy issues were noticed.

I would probably not put these on my car. If you are concerned maybe have a shop install some PPF in those areas just behind the wheel arches.

We live a mile down a private gravel/ dirt lane so they are a requirement on all of our vehicles unless we want to look like an off-road 4x4 magazine cover
