2018 OEM headlights fitment for pre facelift compatibility

Has anyone upgraded to the 2018+ headlights while owning a pre facelift W222?

I ask because I’m slowly gathering all the info to do the body kit upgrade for a 2018+ body kits front and rear with headlight and tail lights.

earlier this week I got my OEM 2018+ Taillights and when I went to connect them thinking it was plug and play I noticed Mercedes changed the plugs on the taillights and could not connect them (pics below) Ive since bought another set of tail lights with the proper harness and waiting for them to deliver.

as for my question. - The headlights I am going to buy OEM headlights and code them with BenzNinja but I don’t want to spend the money on the headlights as a Guinea pig only to then realize it’s a different harness like I ran into for the tail lights and I really don’t want aftermarket I’m not even sure if ILS+ would work on them? If anyone knows that answer too?

I know about the body kit etc that’s the least of my concerns I just want to confirm the headlights OEM MB would directly connect to the pre 2018 like my 2015..

pics below are the tail lights

I realize that this is a resurrected two year old post but I am curious about the taillight replacement.
Besides the connector, is there any difference between the pre and post facelift cars in regards to the taillights?

No, they are not plug-and-play. The connectors are different. You will need custom adapter harnesses for both the headlights and taillights, followed by coding to get full functionality like ILS.

The mayor has already figured this one out and completed his facelift project. You are replying to a post that is over 2 years old.

I saw this old post and wanted to know about the taillights and if they were different other than the connectors. They look the same to me

Front headlights uses the same plug. You will need to get it coded for sure to make it work 100%. The rear tail lamps will also need coding.
