Trans/Diff Service & Fluid
Regarding the differentials, I'm trying to determine what brand oil is acceptable. I believe I saw one user use Motul. I confirmed w dealer it should be 75w85. Also, are there some W222s that require anti-slip additive? (VIN WDDUG8FB2FA080012)
Can anyone comment on the fluids they have used in the trans/diff? After extensively searching, I could not find a good video of a W222 trans and diff service, although there are several on the 722.9s and 4matics on other cars. Just curious as to your first hand experience for those that have completed this service.

Get new plugs, they are cheap so why bother with old ones. I used Permatex High Temp thread sealant. My preference.
Torque to 50 NM.
Fill up until fluid dumps on your face and you are done.
For the fluid I used Mercedes Hypoid Gear Oil 75w-85. Expensive, but again if you do it yourself, why not.
Did not see anything about anti slip. All I found in Alldata was this
Hypoid Gear Oil meeting MB specification 235.7
MB 235.7 / 235.74 FE Hypoid Gear Oil
Part Number .................... A 001 989 33 03
The trans is a bit more involved and you will need a pump as well as an adapter to fill it through the drain hole (The front diff is filled this way too on 4matic cars). You'll also need some means to read the trans temp with the car running (scan tool, ir temp gun). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING FCP EUROS VIDEO ON DOING THIS. Good luck.
