Silver window trim had faded with hard water like marks. Took it to dealer who replaced all on my extended warranty. Looks brand new again after 6 years of wear.

Your dealer must like you. This item is not covered under any extended warrantee i know of.... Nothing in life is free.....
2020 S560 Sedan, 2019 SL450, 2019 E450 Luxury Trim Wagon, '24 BMW I7 on order...
We bought our 2019 E450 Wagon used from a BMW dealer when it was 11 months old with about 9K miles. We had wanted to order a new one, but had just missed the deadline for a new 2020, and the 2021’s would now be the “All Terrain,” which we did not want.
All of the silver window trim had gone “cloudy” for lack of a better term. I took the car to MB Laguna Niguel, where I had been a solid customer for decades. They refused to do anything about it. I took the car to Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach, where I had NEVER spent one dime and they HAPPILY replaced all the trim under warranty. Laguna Niguel lost my long time service business and Fletcher Jones earned my loyalty, all in one fell swoop.
I did mine on my own.
Did not even bother with dealer.
Whatever metal finish MBZ uses for these window trims seems to create problems for many of us. Given the number of people who complain about this problem, it seems to me that MBZ should have used a better quality material for that trim.
I too had the cloudy spotted finish that never looked like clean chrome and normal polishes had little or no effect. I solved mine by having it vinyl wrapped in gloss black to match the trim on the other areas of the car. For my taste, the black is an improvement.
