I have a strange windshield crack. Mercedes Benz of Portland has found what might be the only windshield for this rig in the region. Replacement glass for this beast is super rare because of all the gear attached to it. The crack seems to originate beneath the windshield wipers. Not in a place easily reached by a rock chip. Has anyone seen anything like this? As a side bonus, the adhesive is starting to separate at the top of the windshield where the mirror and all the gear are connected. I just can't figure out how that bottom part of the window got cracked and I'm wondering whether a manufacturers defect might be involved. Of course, MB of Portland says, "No..." but.....
State Farm is paying the $3,200 repair bill. I'd still love to know what might have caused this.

My '18 S560 windshield cracked when, at a dealer far from home, I had stopped to get new windshield wipers. The right hand wiper slipped from the guy's hand and banged down on the glass --- Bingo!
Of course their insurance covered it, (I insisted on an OEM replacement; they finally tracked one down, that had to be shipped to my dealer, who arranged for the installation.) All ended well, after about a month.

Had a rock hit my S560 last year.. Went to Safelite and they did a good job at a resonable price. Just weeks later......another rock, I'm not replacing the windshied till I''m about to buy something else, So far just a small bee bee size hit Does not obstruct my view.
