2015 S550 TPS battery change
Looks like one of the TPMS sensor's battery has died. Looks like the fix is to replace the sensor. I called 2 local stealerships, price is around $153 for 1, plus install. I googled the part and the price is less than half!!! What gives??

The sensor has to be replaced. If you're close to needing tires, that's the time to do it as the tire has to be removed from the rim for installation. A lot cheaper that way.

Thank you for the quick replies. My tire shop has a question about replacing the sensor. Will it automatically sync with the car or are there instructions somewhere (YouTube?)

When I had a replacement wheel and tyre fitted on mine I found a nearly new used mercedes sensor on ebay and when it was all fitted the car " found" the new wheel with no issues

Yes, they synch automatically if they're the correct frequency. I believe most recent model Mercedes cars use the same TPMS frequency (422 Mhz, I believe). I was able to switch in extras harvested from my 2014 C350 into new wheels for the S550.
