Does this meet your requirements? This is the direct statement from MBUSA:

The point is aftermarket glass does not meet OEM spec, if you want to replace the glass with something that you know meets OEM spec, you have to buy OEM glass.

The other side of it is resale. Maybe if the car is old it’s not that big a deal but I would never buy one of these used with an aftermarket windshield, I guarantee that will reduce its value my more than the cost of the windshield.

Anyways, like I said I have replaced plenty of windshields in my life and have never had an aftermarket windshield I was satisfied with or that was the same as an OEM windshield, if you want to roll the dice on such a high end car go right ahead. Even out of my own pocket I would pay for OEM.
Especially if windshield tinting is illegal in your state, the added benefit of UV reduction or the harmful spectrum (the specific waves) of the waves (forgot what it was called) protection is worth it to go with OEM glass. Although even OEM glass is not as hard as back in the days although that is expected.

Talking OEM Windshield

I just picked up my S550 from the dealer for a windshield replacement. One thing that we seem to be missing is that there are other things that need to be done in addition to replacing the glass. After the glass was installed it needed to be calibrated with the adaptive high-beams, lane keep assist, etc. and then road tested to make sure that everything is operating within manufacturers specifications. My OEM windshield was $1935.56, install by a high end company was $260, calibration and road test was $295. I am very comfortable spending what I did for a product that I know is what the manufacturer requires.

That's about what mine cost (the insurance company paid), it was $2,800 on the invoice and included the calibration and installation labor and materials.

one of my customers ironically needed a windshield, he didn't even bother asking for permission to fix the windshield, he just DID it and made them pay after the fact. Allstate paid up, $300 deductible. $2500 tab
