Ambient lighting (vents)
Anyone have any experience with these? I'd like to add them to my S550 but I certainly don't want some cheap garbage in there.

I never liked them for the S-class. They feel more like an E or C class type of an accessory.
Any aftermarket accessories like these, I feel, it takes away from the classy and originality of the W222.
If I were you, assuming I want to make some changes, I'd maybe upgrade the steering wheel, add the tweeters that look similar to 3D Burmester, or get the lloyd Luxe mats, pillows for rear seats, things like that which have some original taste to it.

I actually like the lights; I live in Seattle and we have really short daylight hours in the winter so additional ambient lighting really helps. But I don't like the look of the vents, just how the ambient lights shine through the vents, I've seen videos of a few S-classes with the lighted vents and the ambience is great.

No, I don't have them myself. I did test drive a used W222 before I bought mine that had the lighted vents installed. I'm a huge fan of additional ambient lighting, but the vents have a "more aggressive look" than I care for. They look great in E-class and other MB cars. It's hard to justify putting something from a car lower in the line into a top of the line car. If they could do the same thing with our current slatted vents I definitely buy them.
