USB Map Update from MercedesMe 2019 S560
I pay for map updates through MercedesMe.
I keep forgetting the right procedure to do this so after I figured it out again I thought I would share it.
Get a USB 2.0 64 GB memory stick. I use a PNY branded one.
Make sure it is formatted to NTFS and empty.
Plug the USB stick into your PC NOW.
Go to this website. https://www.mbusa.com/mercedesme
Login and select the correct vehicle.
Click on "Access Connect Features"
A new window opens where you click on "Go to My Vehicles"
Scroll down to "Manage Services" and click on it
Scroll down to "Online Map Update" and click on it
New page opens
If you need to change your Home Region do it here otherwise continue on with the other choice ( I can't see the other choice now that I have installed the map update )
Follow the prompts to download the Mercedes Download Manager software on next screen
Install the Download Manager even if you have before and agree to any updating. It will not open after installing and that's good.
Click the next prompt in the Online Map Update window once DM is installed. Step 2's Next if I remember correctly.
Next step is to open DM through the Online Map Update window - USB stick must be inserted
The DM will open and start the process of downloading and copying files to the USB stick with activation so no License Key will be needed. About 45 minutes later.....
Eject USB stick properly from PC after successful copy process completion.
Take to vehicle - Start Car - Insert USB stick into USB port in center console -Wait for prompts on screen and click on prompts - Wait for completion - About 45 minutes - Wait for prompt to restart system and click to continue -Done

Some questions:-
1. How do I find out if my 2018 S560 has the most recent map version? Or which version it does have?
2. I do not use either Skype or the other system, and don't want to bother with them. Is there a way to download Ninja without having some sort of similar system?
If not, I won't bother. So far, my car's nav system seems to work okay ever as it exists.

How do you know what version I have? Couldn't my dealer have updated it at one of my service trips?
"sure, by rmail" is somewhat cryptic - I'm a 91 year old non-nerd. That is scarcely helpful.
