dBA / dBC SPL measurements?
Curious if someone could use the NIOSH iOS app to measure their cabin sound level in both A and C weighting.
A weighting filters out sound below 1000 Hz pretty severely. I’ve found that I prefer environments where there is about 10-12 dB spread between A and C.
For measuring I typically use the driver’s left ear as that area has around 3 dB more noise than the middle of a car. Really doesn’t matter too much as long as testing is consistent.
