2015 s550 shifter will not put it into park
Just got this thing for 22k with 78k on the dash
Has anyone else done the research for this to save me some time? It's getting old having to open the door in order to put the car into park.
Thanks, going to start researching it and hopefully one of you has seen this before because.. I'm FLOORED by this car, it's WAY too much and i'll probably be trying to step down to a cls550 I hope. I knew it was a good price and figured at the very least I could find a good trade for it if I didn't keep it. I already have a 2009 e350 4matic and that car is a pleasure to drive.

Overall these cars are quite reliable for that they are. However, if someone didn't take care of the car, then issues like this can pop up. If you want to keep the car and figure out what is wrong, maybe contact Benzninja. You will have to buy some hardware, but its going to be cheaper than going to the dealer.
Or just go to a dealer / good independent shop and spend the money to get the car fixed. You paid $22k for it, but its still a $100k car when it comes to repairs.

Not necessarily. A lot of the things that trigger a check engine light might not be serious, but it has to do with emissions. So the systems check for it. Loose gas cap for example.
Something is obviously wrong, but the parts of the program that alerts the "check engine" system is not programmed to recognize it.
Things can go wrong with the car that does not alert the check engine system. Things could alert the check engine system that's not really that much of a problem.
