It mostly lists S550 for 2014, 2015, and 2017, although I have seen a 2015 pop up as S500. Were they originally branded to sell in Europe as S500? Or is it just a site error?

At some point Mbenz stopped reporting their vin decoding details externally. You can always ask the dealer to create a window sticker for you. If they don't have one, if they are a good dealer, they should invest in buying one for you. This website is a good one but it is not free: https://monroneylabels.com/
Also see this thread below. A few alternatives were also proposed: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ve-option.html
Here a couple tips/suggestions; and good luck shopping:
I would not buy any W222 without full understanding of all and every option it has if there are certain things you need. There is just so many options and packages to keep an eye on and some of them are critical. For instance, my area is relatively somewhat coldish most of the year and humid with generous rain, hence, windshield (front windshield) heating (imbedded heaters within the glass that you can not see) was a must have in most my BMWs and Mbenz. Only the W222 offers an effective optional package for that. It's pretty rare on the W222 because it is an added option and was not free, but you can find one with it. Without a window-sticker, there is no way you can tell if it has it or now.. It works pretty well when needed. Also, I would consider the Warmth Comfort Package to be a must have (armrests "left/right for front and rear" plus steering heating and I think rapid heating rate". Last, keep in mind that the 4-Matic, depending on where you live, can have a better re-sale value than RWD. So whether you need the 4-Matic or not, RWD in some areas don't even sell without taking a big hit. I made that mistake when I had my previous 2015 W222... I bought it when I was in North Carolina... I then moved to Illinois Chicago, and nobody wanted to even look at a RWD sedan over there and I had hard time selling it for that reason. My current W222 is a 4-Matic so I learned it the hard way. Just my experience from owning two different W222s to date in different climate zones / states since 2019.

So far, the best one I've checked out was a 2016, but for some reason, it doesn't have a wood grain steering wheel. I was thinking I could buy the car and just swap the steering wheel. I think I may also be able to add the additional trim pieces to the doors and seats on my own. But really odd that the steering wheel has no wood.
Other than that, the mileage is a factor. A lot of the cars I've test driven have had 100k miles, 120k miles, etc. I'm very hesitant on the high miles since I know that's when suspension repairs and turbo coolant line replacement comes into play. It's also funny that all these sellers only have the car for a few months, put 3000 miles on it, and then decide to sell it. I'd prefer to find a 1-2 owner car, or whoever is the owner, I'd prefer they've had the car for a few years and actually drove it.
