Previous owner stated 50K service was done. Going over my 2017 S550 and found the air filters in this condition (yes, that's a cigarette butt). Replaced air intake tubes as well. The felt wraps were coming apart. Hengst filter instructions recommended 10K mile or 1 year replacement.
Anyone that has not done their own air filters. It is pretty easy in this car.
First time maybe takes some time, but after that, its dead simple. Need a torx driver, flat head screwdriver, and maybe 10 min of your time, but that's it
When I changed mine at 40k, the old ones were full of junk, almost like this. They might have been the original ones since factory svc interval is 50k(!).
I will definitely change more often having seen how much stuff gets in them.
