Is this behavior of lane keeping assist normal?
Bought W222 Facelift today
When I keep the lane keeping assist turned on it behaves:
1) When I go over the line, I hear some 3 TOOOK sounds in steering wheel with just small bump, i dont feel any vibration
In CLS C257, 2018 I can feel strong vibration acroos the whole steering wheel and wheel even turns automatically in oposite direction.
Is behaviour described in 1) normal for W222 facelift or I am missing something in settings or malfunction?
No error codes on diagnostic tool

Little off topic, but the F-111 had a pedal shaker that vibrated when the pilot was about to stall out.
If I go over the line the car pulls hard to the other way by putting on the brakes on just one side of the car. Steering wheel yanks to the opposite side of the hwy line.

I have a 2018 S450
And I think it does the same thing. My 2015 S550 was equipped an additional option that adjusted the steering when outside of lane with vibration.
On your front grill, do you have the full height sensor plate or half? If half, you might not have the steer adjust option.

I can confirm that my 2016 S550 does the same. It also sometimes pulls to the opposite side by steering and braking (quite annoying) and displays an imagine in the cluster, but I’ve only noticed it doing it mainly on shoulder lines if I go near them. Sometimes I wonder if I were dodging an object/pothole intentionally, will it pull me back towards the object?
Anyways, I don’t know if the vibration motor is just too weak or broken? My 2014 E350 would make the same sounds but I would feel the vibration in the wheel. This S550 makes the same sound but I can barely feel the steering wheel shake if it shakes at all. But I’ve been so accustomed to the vibration warning in the E350 that I don’t even notice it anymore. So I especially don’t notice it anymore in the S Class. It’s only when someone else drives my car and it happens and they’ll say “what was that?” that I remember that feature still exists.

I don’t know for sure if it is designed that way, or maybe both of ours are broken. The only reason I say that is because the E Class I had, you can definitely feel it and it makes sense that you do. It’s suppose to alert you and warn you that you’re about to go over the lines. So it doesn’t make sense that in the S Class, you don’t feel it. Especially if you have music on, you won’t even know it’s warning you.

I find if you use trun signal, little, or no vibration

The effect on steering wheel of my 24 GLE53 is very slight, unlike the thuds and shakes per my 21 GLC43. Seems MB has finally got things right just in time for major model changes and all the ensuing complaints that are bound to come.

Read your owners manual. The Active Lane Keeping Assist is described on several pages starting on page 254. There are technically two systems. Passive and Active. The former only vibrates and the latter makes violent steering corrections if you unintentionally cross over the lane markers and/or there's a car next to you. The vibration in the steering wheel is fairly faint in the newer models, it's more like a tugging on the steering wheel, but when it makes steering corrections it uses the brakes on one side of the car and that it's pretty violent. I turn lane keeping off in cars. The day I can't stay in my lane anymore is the day I need to turn in my driver's license. I had it on initially, but the vibration in the steering wheel got annoying when it mistook cracks in the road for lane markers and such and I had a few of those violent steering corrections when straddling the lane markers because I wanted to avoid a piece of debris or something on the road.
