Did not see anything in his post that would explain why the MBC suspension would not ride as well as ABC.

This Advertisement that MB had out years ago about the MBC is a very good analogy of how MBC works, the chickens heads stay in the same position just like the driver in the S class with MBC, thats pretty much what it does.

MBC W222 drives real nice. A airmatic W222 drives great too.

IMO my G12 drives nicer and rides better than my W222 airmatic. Especially when comparing both with RFTs 20s. I got rid of the RFT and put on some 21” HREs on the G12 and its night and day better than my airmatic now. Will replace the RFTs on the W222 sooner than later and will compare again.

Handling is no comparison the G12 wins all day.

The S90 is not really in the league of a W222/G12/A8 cars. More of a 5 series comparison if that.

Interesting. I am a BIG fan of the G11/G12, but always felt that the W222 Airmatic is a bit more comfortable. Certainly G11/G12 is superior in handling. The B7 suspension tuning is superior to the regular G11/G12 including comfort, and I’d say the B7 was as good or even better than the W222, but I wouldn’t say that the regular G11/G12 ride is more comfortable than the W222, just my personal opinion.

I am afraid to say that time has passed so quickly before I could own the B7 or M760, these cars age so quickly, much faster that the S-class, and the infotainment is getting a bit too old now. Most of the cabin and tech around in the car was developed in 2014-2015 with the intro of the 2016 pre-LCI generation). Wish I pulled the trigger on a 2020 or 2021 LCI G11/G12 about 2 years ago but I never found the one in the pre-owned market. Buying these cars new is foolish for someone who trade his cars every 1-3 years. I hate that they stopped the laser headlights around 2022-2023, that was a stupid decision. 2020 is probably the only you can get fully loaded (including Ambient air package, rear screens, night vision and laser headlights)

MBC is like magic. We have a 2015 S550, which is our 3rd Benz with ABC (only the last with the full MBC). Smooth and supple, as others have explained here.

I thought only W222 after facelift ( 2018) models have MBC... at least it seems was the case here in Australia ...BTW, is it an option you could chose or it came as standard ?

Here in North America, in 2018, when I ordered my S560, MBC was an option, as an alternative to 4-Matic. The price of the two was about the same. Because here in the Ohio River Valley, snow is not at all uncommon, my dealer tried very hard to talk me out of MBC in favor of 4-Matic. But, my wife has back and neck issues, and I was sold on the supposedly better ride offered by MBC. it has certainly lived up to our expectations, and I have never once regretted out decision to go the MBC route.

MBC standard on all V-12 powered cars in the states from 2014. Not uncommon in rear drive V-8 powered cars. Airmatic used in all AWD cars including S-63.

I can't agree with that at all. Before I got the S560 I drove probably a dozen G12s and W222s back to back to back to back trying to decide which to get, because I was really torn, and there was no question to me that the W222 had the slightly better ride and the slightly more refined powertrain. All of the reviews and comparisons at the time also noted the same thing.

I was also comparing the cars on 19s.

My 2020 has MBC and its amazing, especially compared to my W222, 2017 S550 that did not have it. I don't really care if another car or brand has a "Smoother" ride (Of course a Rolls Royce Phantom does). My car has 57,000 trouble free miles, looks and rides fantastically, handles well and is an absolute pleasure to drive. I ordered mine new specifically with the MBC option. Last weekend we went 4 adults on a 120 miles round trip. My in-laws never drove in an S class before, let alone an S class with MBC (They are Lexus people) and they were completely blown away. If you are looking for a used W222 S class and can find one with MBC (Especially after the 2018 refresh) and its in decent condition, grab it.
