CPO 2020 S450 4Matic with 58.5k miles. Since it’s higher mileage, we would only have 1 year of CPO warranty. Dealership is asking $44k before any additional fees(tax, etc).

My concern is the high mileage, but seems like a unicorn deal. Including a photo of the options included below, but would love thoughts from this group

In late October I bought a CPO 2019 S450 4matic, similar options, paid $49k with 35k miles. Seems to be OK.

Have enjoyed every minute of driving since. No regrets, or disappointments. It's everything I thought it would be.

I would see if they did all required maintenace on the car, there are some expensive ones that come around 50k like tranny and diff fluid, etc. I also would see if spark plugs were replaced. While this isn't the most optioned S-Class these cars have some much standard equipmeent that compared to nearly any other cars out there you will not miss what you don't know.

That is a lot of mileage for a 3 year old car but it is priced accordingly.

W222 prices dropped significantly, and you can see that if you’ve been keeping up with the market by comparing the prices mid of this year versus today. 44K for that mileage is an “okay” deal for that spec, but not like a great deal. The vehicle isn’t well optioned, and has relatively high mileage for it’s age, it’s a 450 not 560, but given that it’s a 2020, I think the price is fine but you might be able to (and should) negotiate!. ~60% depreciation on 4 years old 106K MSRP S-class. High 40s to low 50s is close to what they are asking for similarly equipped S560s with such high mileage or even lower…. If you must stay within the low 40s to get a W222, I think that’s a good option, just make sure you don’t care about the missing options and that you are okay with the 450 instead of 560…. You are just about 10K from a nice 560 even lower mileage at that price point.

Has Mercedes changed their CPO policy very recently? I have always been able to purchase the optional 2nd and 3rd years of CPO warranty. CPO eligibility has always been an "all or nothing" proposition. If the vehicle is under 75,000 miles (and meets all other minimum requirements), then it should be fully CPO eligible, including the CPO extended warranty availability. Anyone else ever heard of this CPO limitation, specifically regarding mileage?

These screenshots are from the Mercedes CPO internal document, albeit from a few years ago:

...and further down in the document:

I'm hoping that this information gives you basis to ask for clarification from your M-B dealership. Perhaps I'm wrong, and Mercedes has indeed recently changed a policy, in which case please report back.

Good luck!
