Dash Flickering
Did some searching - cant find anything too awful similar ....anyone know a solution to this intermittent issue?

Looks like a loose wire or faulty circuit.

I agree, just thinking I am not the first person so have this....

My bet is on the battery

Which one? |
Does it do it when car isn't running? Doesn't seem like enough vibration to make power flicker like that and I'd expect some other visual glitches from data getting corrupted if a connector was that loose. Kind of reminds me of an LED light bulb going out. That little center display is backlit with an LED I believe.

Yep...that's running. Very random over the past year. Not temp dependant either.... |
You might find more information on this issue on the GLS forum as the dash as the W222 dash is the first to be all digital. From your video it looks like there's a broken board trace or wire somewhere, were it a larger problem like a battery being defunct it would likely affect other systems as well.
Are you able to scan with Mercedes Diags for any clues? |
Clean scan.... I had it on the GLS about six months ago...No answers (or replies). Figured would be the same in the S? Guess not.

https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...dff9a63849.jpg Well shoot. There's not a lot of info online either (which I'm sure you know.) In the past few decades of working in IT, that kind of wonky LCD flutter is usually a reason to replace the display. It seems that there are some solutions for this if you're interested. This is just an example I have no affiliation with this site. https://store.minitools.com/en/sei-d...-clusters.html |
Yeah....I have the skills, the tools....it is the desire to rip the entire freaking dash apart that I struggle with.....I admit it, I am looking for a simple solution (Heh, I am modern 'merican). Wait, the S did have this same dash, this car is a 2017 (I think, I refer to it as "The Blue Car"). My E63's do not have color in the center display like this one does.
