Sunroof Help Please

2018 GLS550 & 2015 S550 gone but not forgotten: 2001 S500, 2006 ML500, 2010 S550 & 2014 GL550
The main thing that i advise, is to avoid forcing the roof close. Getting it back open was a nightmare. Plus if you can open it and take the glass off you look down and try to figure out what popped or broke and fix that one piece.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I wanted to ask if the W222 has the same issues was the W212 where the screws for the roof braces come loose. I just had my wife's E550 apart to fix the rattling, and thought maybe a similar repair might help reduce chances of the roof flexing and breaking the plastic pieces in the sunroof. Did anyone have a rattle or creak from the roof before the failures?

My 222 sunroof was great until it made a loud POP! Then it wouldn’t close the last inch where the rear of the roof should drop down. Plastic bits broke in the blind. Apparently dropped into sunroof rails. Rails out and there is no getting out whatever is in there.
No creaks or pops until then.

I havent opened my sunroof in a while.. last time I did i had greased the rails etc and now being spring/summer i went to open and noticed half of the sunroof opens.
I looked on both EBay and Amazon but not sure what am i buying if I tackle this project?
