2018 GLS550 & 2015 S550 gone but not forgotten: 2006 ML500 & 2014 GL 550
The main thing that i advise, is to avoid forcing the roof close. Getting it back open was a nightmare. Plus if you can open it and take the glass off you look down and try to figure out what popped or broke and fix that one piece.

It took my garage 3 /2 weeks to get my skyroof closed, and in the end I taped it up thoroughly on the outside with Gorilla Tape...

Good luck getting the tape adhesive off of the paint without damage.
