Just a thought experiment.

My iPhone 13 Pro Max is too big to charge consistently. I thought about getting a MagSafe charger to plug into a USB port. Seems dumb but I wonder if anyone has done it?

Yes I can plug in directly. I put a plug on my charging port and it’s a hassle to take off and put back. It takes 15 seconds each time. lol

I think the USB ports charge very slowly. At least that's been my experience.

Charging time also depends on the type of the cable from my own experience , it's not just USB ports related type c vs type a . Well, wireless charging units charge the phones slower than usb ports .Another thing could be a very very overdoing : buy a 110V inverter and plug it into the 12V socket and use your home charger or 110V socket to plug it directly into the slot . Not sure if this answers your questin or not. My 2018 charges my Samsung S23 and my old Samsung S8, and also charged my IPhone X, all with cases and no problems. I had a different S23 model, which was larger, but it was too large to sit on the charging pad, so I exchanged it for my current S23.

I’ve tried wireless charging on a BMW 530i 2024. Same iPhone 13 Pro Max. It fits on the charging pad but seems to stop and start.
