Also saying Goodbye to the S560
After much thought we have decided that owning the S560 is just too expensive and that's doing your own work for the most part. The maintenance on these things is on going and never seems to end.
I was continuing to have problems with the rear exhaust actuators and rear bumper sensor. The rear brakes needed replacement and the front tires were wearing faster than I expected with a good alignment and the list goes on and on.
If you buy one in the low mid 50K mileage range be expecting the expensive maintenance items to be coming due. I know most vehicles have the same requirements but the costs and difficulty are very different.
We traded for an SUV with low miles.
After owning 3 Mercedes I would have to say they are the highest quality cars I have ever owned and made well. We enjoyed every one. Overall it's the cost of ownership that's their downfall to us. Today there are many vehicles that have the same options for far less and still have quality and safety built in. I will never trash talk Mercedes as they were the best service/sales departments I have ever dealt with excluding Cherry Hill NJ.
I really enjoyed this Forum. With so many members there were many opinions per thread unlike other Forums.
So off to another Forum to find out how to add floor lighting to the SUV.
So long everyone. MBGuy2022 out.
