Retrofit HUD
How does it process work?
How does it process work?
2) You buy the right part we will find you on eBay
3) we code your car
done

You'll can find the HUD display for as low as a couple hundred bucks on the auction site. Or new for around $1K. Then the coding, and you should be good to go.
If you go through with it, let us know how it turns out.

Seems to be right, here is a video proving it
So those who retrofit it will have to live with it, get a film applied or get a windshield
Thank you for your search 95Sinned420

Heads up conversion has been completed!!!!!!
Parts needed:
1. Heads up projector part number: 2229010310 (eBay 2x, first one was dead on arrival)
2. Foam filler around projector part number: 2226821404 / 2226821502 (cars245.com)
3. Dashboard trim with HUD cutout part number: 2226800907 (eBay)
4. Switch Panel with the HUD button part number: 2229056405 (eBay)
5. Instrument cluster works with HUD part number: 2229002510 that's one of many (eBay), @BenzNinja can verify for you or look for a round black connector on the back of your display.
6. Pan head screws (3) for the HUD part number: 000 000 003 242 64 (MB dealer $18)
7. Power, ground, CAN, and LVDS cable part number: 2225408808 (MB dealer $43)
Be prepared, you have to pull the dash out in order to get the projector into its spot. In this video he shows you how remove the dash.
I ran the my power to the fuse panel on the drivers side and tapped into the power for the clock. The ground I tapped into the ground for the cigarette lighter. The location of the CAN is attached to the under side panel where the hood release is. There is one screw, then the panel folds down and you will expose the CAN bus connections. I believe you can you any open port, but due to my first HUD being bad, I went through rearrange my connections to match the schematic. By removing the fuse panel on the drivers side and pulling the dash, you give yourself all the room you need to run your wires comfortably. The ground was suppose to run to the common ground on the drivers side foot well, but that would require pulling up the carpet and that was too much of fight when other options available. After getting everything installed @BenzNinja was able to program everything and get it working properly. Will post pics later. The hardest part was finding someone to sell the wiring by itself, because I was reaching out to all the websites and parties that sell the whole kit for $2k. Once I was able to get the part number and reached out to the dealer, for $43 I felt like I got a deal. When you source the instrument cluster and/or HUD note the VIN number, the dealer will ask for it when ordering and it makes ordering from them a lot easier than trying to explain to parts guy what your looking to do.

I went for a drive today and I have to report back that I can not see the display during the day. The only time I was able to see anything on the was when I was in a shadows of the trees or behind a dark truck. At night its crystal clear, looks like factory, but during the day its the complete opposite. So I'm back to drawing board to see if I can get a piece of the S-LEC film to place where the HUD projects onto the windshield. I do have a 50% ceramic tint on the windshield, but that does not help. If anyone has a way of getting some of the S-LEC film, please share.

I have custom Transitional Film changing from clear to dark by sunlight, bought one window more to try apply it myself. Then realized that it is a job and had it done by a pro.
