Android Auto/ Applc Carplay
I know this has been the topic of numerous conversations in the past. Just wanted to get some feedback for the latest recommendations/ suggestions on adding Android Auto and Apple Carplay to my 2015 S550. Would appreciate any guidance that can be given regarding what options are currently available etc.
I installed the RoadTop unit myself a few months ago. I used the instructions included in the kit along with an installation video I found on youtube.
It took roughly 2 hours to install and set up and it works great. Best modification I've made to any vehicle I've owned and was less than $250.

Amazon, for quick delivery, excellent return policy in case it doesn’t work well.. but it’s been great! I do notice on super hot California days (110 degrees), the road top won’t start up initially when I turn on the car (black screen). I would have to force restart the unit by holding the “Back” button on center console for 15 seconds and it’ll restart and all is well. This is an easy restart procedure with any glitches I find with it, such as phone not reconnecting. 95% of the time it doesn’t need a quick restart though. Happy with it since maps is way better than factory Nav. On my iPhone I also have offline maps enabled for times when I don’t have service (such as in Yosemite), I pre-download maps in places I know I’ll be without phone service and I always have a reliable navigation. Also good if you prefer Google maps or Waze.

Hi guys, I also want to install an android auto box in my '16 W222.
Is there any difference between all those boxes? You can get it from about 150-500$, but it seems that they are all the same. All are using AUX for audio, right? So I can't listen to OEM radio or music from usb and hear the navigation instructions from android auto?
Some boxes are completely wireless connected to the phone. Isn't it better to have the option to connect it with cable?
When I use android auto and I change the temperature I can't see the temperature on the screen?
