Did you use the Red goop on the back of the brake pads that have contact with the calipers (all around the piston(s) circle?)

I used some ceramic brake paste left over from my racing days on the back of all pads, and have zero squeal/noise forward or reverse.

Most likely any high quality brake paste would have similar results.

“Red Goop.” What is this product? In the bad old days I recall getting to take brakes apart that ‘Elroy’ had done and used a Red Goop on surfaces such as back of pads, where ends of pads contact brake calipers and a few times applied to the friction surface. It behaved as a silicone glue that has no business being used with brakes. As I recall that ish was offered as a method of quieting noisy disc brakes. Sure was a PITA to remove from calipers.

A real brake paste is a lubricant that will allow the ends of brake pads to move freely where they contact the calipers.

My Carbon Ceramic brakes will get noisy when dirty. A quick rinse with the hose and several firm stops from high speeds burns off whatever is noisy for quiet operation for 1-3 months.

I use two products on every disk brake job I ever do. The first - I previously called it “Red Goop” I apply it to the back of the brake pads where ever pads touch the caliper especially where the pistons touch the pads. These contact spots have high potential for your the typical squealing you hear.
secondly, the grease (pictured) is applied and packed where the caliper studs can slid the pads for even adjustment and wear within the caliper (don't forget to replace the Black rubber stud shaft covers).

Oh look.... It would seem that red goop I referred to is still available.

I won’t ever have that ick on my brakes!

Why? It doesn’t hurt the brakes and it peels off. Many pad sets come with a squeeze pack of the brake Quite and it works when it’s applied correctly.
