The ashtray door in my car is jammed, and I can’t get it to open. It’s the type that automatically opens with a soft push. I had inserted two charging cables into the lighter socket, which seemed small enough to allow the door to close, but now it might be stuck due to the wires or the device itself.
Do you have any suggestions on how I can open it without damaging the door? I’ve attached a picture for reference.
Happened to me once, I just put a little pressure downward on the "door" and then pulled on the wire to help it open. Just make sure the push in is actually releasing the tray and not shutting the tray if that makes sense. I now route the wires differently so that it doesn't come out the top of the door but rather the side.
