Car wash

If you ever happen to lose your mind and decide to go through a car wash with your W222, how are you preparing the car? Turning off windshield wipers seems like a good idea. The manual says to keep the key fob 10 ft away from the car. 🤪

I don’t plan on doing this, but it occurred to me just how much could go wrong here. The trunk is going to think about opening.

Hand wash your car. You'll be much happier with the result and it will avoid dulling paint swirls. Touchless washes are loaded with harsh chemicals which are terrible for your car.

Its not a big deal, just turn off the wipers and fold in the mirrors. I also always raise the suspension up.

I think leaving the key fob 10 foot away has to do with hand washing and drying. If the fob is in your pocket, the doors lock and unlock when hit with water, towels,etc....

When I hand wash and dry mine, I leave the fob in the car.

This.

The automatic car washes require that the car be in neutral with the steering unlocked (normally means engine running).
