Center Console Storage

The .45 is a great idea and there's space below the tray to keep it. I use the knife as a tooth pick when I run out of dental picks.

I had to modify the ears sticking up by cutting the rear ear flush with the sides and then used a heat gun to fold the front ear flush. The folded ear rests on the plastic phone(?) holder inside the console and acts as a stop for the new divider.

Was that an ashtray that you trimmed out? I want to add a wireless charger and asking how you trimmed out the tray and 12v socket.
Thanks

If you go the route of a used ashtray, be sure to match the drawer front texture to your dash. The texture of the dash leather varies by year and/or trim options.
The actual conversion is pretty straight forward. You need a flat screwdriver to work the drawer past the stops in the housing. The ashtray comes out by pulling straight up. The cigarette lighter assembly takes a bit of twisting to remove. After that it boils down to cutting out the plastic panels and lighter mount. I used a Dremel with a side cutting wheel and then a small grinding pad to trim the edges down. You can’t get the floor of the drawer flat so I used cardboard inserts to make it as flat as possible. Use leather or material to line the drawer. That’s it in a nutshell.
It was a fun project and I love it!

I'll buy a used one to modify. Is the X pattern on the bottom what you filled with cardboard? I was thinking that I could mill the X pattern down flat but not sure I really need to since the wireless charger pad is kind of thick itself and should lay flat.
Do you know if the front interior matching trim panel is easily removed?

Not sure what you mean by “front interior matching trim panel”.
If you are talking about the drawer front, I can’t remember if it could be removed,
