S350d S CLASS ISSUE
Have a problem with my 2016 S class, was driving about 80mph, lost all power, dash went blank and then all cluster lights came on.
waited 5 mins then car restarted, but after start noticed I have been left with a knocking and tapping noise in engine bay.
did notice black smoke come from the engine area and could smell burning through my air vents.
car is still running, slight loss of power but still pulling and accelerating.
Strange as car was put on diagnostics, came up power issue, new main battery replaced with a new one but engine hasn’t sounded the same since.
i noticed the stop/start is now working as hasn’t been a year prior to putting in a new battery.
someone I took it to said an engine strip down is needed, has anyone faced something like this ?
any advice would be much appreciated
