Quick question regarding the Magic Sky option

Could someone post a picture of what I should be looking for on a 2018+ S560 or S63 to indicate the car has the Magic Sky option? I've seen that it's a button on the overhead console, but most of the S560's I've looked at have the same button there, and I don't think all of the cars have Magic Sky. Any help would be appreciated as I'm hunting around online. Also not having a VIN decoder to show options of the later model years makes this much more difficult than when I used to hunt around for W212's, etc. Thanks for any help or reference information.

Build code 398 is the sure way to tell. I think it's true that the forward-most button on the overhead panel can be used in different ways and not a reliable indication of MS.

One other way might be a picture of the sunroof looking up from inside the car and showing the characteristic blue color of the special glass ...

Visually, with the roof off (car off) the panels will look like a mirror from the exterior. From the interior it will look very dark blue or, if on, very clear with a slight rainbow effect.

I felt just like you while searching for my S63. The build code will be the only way to know for sure, short of putting your hands on it yourself. My glass has a slight blue halo effect around the edges when in full transparent mode, but it didn't look that way in pictures. The other problem is that the feature is so rare that most car dealers don't even know it exists. As you know, you can easily figure it out with a MY2018 car by using the online VIN decoders, but they don't work for MY19 and newer cars.

As far as using the button on the headliner to determine if it has 398 or not, that't tough because W222's have the second button. On cars without 398, the button is used to open and close the rear sunroof shade. On cars with 398, it's used to control the Magic Sky Sunroof. Most of the salespeople, even at MB dealerships, don't know about it. I had to use a lot of patience when talking through the options with sales guys, exspecially at non MB franchised dealerships. I think one of the reasons I would up with a 2018 car is becuase I could look up the VIN and figure out all the options prior to talking to a salesperson. Good luck and happy hunting!
