How To Update System Nav Map
How do I get Nav System maps updated for MB 2014 s550.
Is this something that needs to be taken into the dealer service, or is this something I could do on my own ?

Last year 2024, the dealer/MB stopped doing GPS map updates on my 2015 S-600 that use DVD-reader in the car.

My 2019 is one of the models with the new software and all of the updates are over-the-air and I don't even know when it is happening. MB will send me an email informing me of a new map update is being published and will be sent to my car in the next few days. They also indicated that if I was in a hurry, I can log into my MercedesMe account and the updates are there for me to download onto a memory stick which I can then insert into the car and update the maps immediately. My MercedesMe app on my phone also shows the past updates that have been pushed to my car and those that are pending to be installed.
If your S 600 will only take updates by using the DVD player, perhaps you can still download the updated map and burn it to a DVD. Not sure of the compatibility but just a thought of another way to make it happen without going to the dealership.
