2017 S550 cabriolet 2007 SL550 , 2012 C300
High beams
I have a 2017 s550 cabriolet with auto high beams. They never seem to go on when I want them is there a shut them off and just use the light Stock to switch them on and off. Otherwise I have to switch the head light switch from auto to manual then I can turn high beams on and off

I had the same concern with my 2016, the high beams seemed to be inhibited by every little bit of ambient light and wouldn't come on when I wanted them in auto mode. I did just go to manual mode on occasions, like driving on rural highways at night.

I was hoping there was a way to shut off the auto mode. Maybe something that can be coded to shut off

As others said. I’d just code them to ILS+ for adaptive headlights. Get with forum sponsor @EleBest for coding. I’ve had the best experience with this honest gentleman. He still rocks!

Many folks on this forum have used and suggest Peter for their troubleshooting needs as well as modifications such as the Intelligent Lighting system that will give your high-beams new functionality. Search the forum and you will see many happy recommendations for Peter at BenzNinja.

Get the ILS coding and never look back, essentially they will be o the all the time and you will amaze your passengers with the technology which is so dumb that the US didn't allow this fantastic tech. While he's in there get the % of tank to gallons (why wouldn't MB give us that) and several others on the way.

While he's in there get the % of tank to gallons (why wouldn't MB give us that) and several others on the way.
I did this by joining the club at BenzNinja and made several mods to my car with the help of Peter who is a great guy to work with on your car. I had Peter do the ILS+ and it was truly amazing. BenzNinja has a list of mods he can do for your car and get the features and functions you want and don't want like the stupidly annoying AutoStart. Peter can set the AutoStart function to retain the last setting in memory so it is always turned OFF every time I start the car. Perfection can be achieved. It's your car set it up the way you want with the custom mods you select to perform with a little help from the Ninja
