Oil level?

Hello Recently got home my S600 w222 and after 15min driving on the highway it warned of high oil level The car was just recently serviced at Mersedes in Germany Went straight to the mercedes workshop here in Sweden and they state that it was 3 deciliters too much oil that they sucked out.checked now and the car says top up with 1.5 liters next refuelingbought original dipstick but which marking should I go for?the dipstick didn't go all the way into the hole either

At least you still have a dipstick. My G550 has only an electronic sensor and incorrect info in the owners manual which says the oil capacity is 9.5 liters. However, the first time I changed my oil and filter, filling with 9.5L produced an overfill warning. Either the OM in wrong or not all the oil drains. Turns out 9L is the proper fill. Then, last time I reset the service indicator, the oil fill indicator stopped working (a software bug I've read). The other oil fill indicator in the instrument panel Workshop menu does yet work and correlates within a deciliter or so of 9L after an oil change. Whoever decided eliminating the simple and reliable flat metal dipstick as obsolete technology should be shot. No wonder dealership techs can't get it right.

OkayHow do you get into the workshop menu? The dipstick has lots of graduations so wondering which one should I go for?do not trust digital oil readings and afraid to add too much oilMaybe the sensor is defective?

You car might be different, but on my G550 with the digital instrument panel, the procedure is:
1. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ignition start button once (the instrument cluster lights up)
2. On the steering wheel left side of switches, press "Back/Home" once (the horizontal screen menu appears)
3. Use the Scroll button and move the menu highlight to "Trip"
4. Press and hold the Back/Home button for 3 seconds and then press the Scroll button. Release the Scroll button and then release the Back/Home Button
(the instrument cluster will then show a "Workshop" menu item on the display, or the display might jump to a display that shows "Vehicle Data" / "Dynamometer Test" / "Brake Pad Replacement" / "Assyst Plus")
(if "Workshop" appears, use the Scroll button to select it and the display should jump to the "Vehicle Data" etc. display.
5. Select "Vehicle Data" and scroll up/down and you should find the oil level displayed.

BTW, if your car follows this menu pattern, drilling down through the "Assyst Plus" menu will get you to the Service Indicator reset for when you change your oil.

No, the procedure for the V12 is different. The dipstick is a workshop part (that cannot be stored in the engine) that includes graduations for different applications (including some transmissions IIRC).
You need the workshop instructions to use it correctly, I have a copy but I'm currently out traveling. Hopefully someone here can provide a copy.

After I get my 2015 S-600 serviced, for the first 3-4 months and after 2 hours of interstate travel, I get the "Oil Level too High" message.
I ignore it, and after a couple of months it goes away. If I were driving the snot out of the car, I would not be ignoring it.
This is in a car that does not consume a drop of oil over 10K miles.

'94 SL600,'05 SL600,'06 S65,'07 E63,'14 E63S,'09SL600 all sold, ‘15 S65,‘18 E63S,'17 SL65, '17S65Cab
I currently have three AMG V-12 Biturbos. Two S65's and one SL65. The 2015 S65 always shows the Oil Level Too High message after a service that includes an oil change. The other two (2017's) do not. The dealer is putting in the correct amount of oil and the level was physically verified. The light turns on after about 15 minutes of driving, I push the OK button, it goes off never to be seen again until the next cold start. After two months the light stops coming on. The dealer suspects its a sensor issue since the oil level is correct. I ignore it. These S65's and S600's have 11.1 quarts of oil in them, Running it 1.5 quarts low will not hurt the engine, nor will running it 1/2 quart high.
