I also have a 2018. I wish one of the coder guys could create a solution. Since the hardware is the same as the 2019 it seems like a firmware upgrade should be all that is needed.

It would be nice if that could be done, you'd think MB woulda put a little effort into it to make these cars work with the Mercedes Me app as it sounds like it really would not have been too hard for them to accommodate people with the cars that worked off the Mbrace, well at least the cars that were 4G I can understand the older 3G cars not working in the newer app. This is precisely the reason I would never buy a new Mercedes again. They sold the car with being able to do all these different things with a app via your cell phone and now as of the end of this month it's gone. I'd almost think this kinda thing would be a thing there could be a class action lawsuit against.

I don’t intend to make it difficult or complain, but the primary issue and disappointment for me is why Mbenz took until 2019 to introduce LTE connectivity in its flagship cars, as well as most of its other vehicles???. I’ve consistently expressed my disappointment with Mbenz recent trend of being at least 5 years behind in terms of technology in every aspect not just 4G LTE in the past, but even now in 2026.
BMW as an example began rolling out 4G LTE connectivity in its vehicles around 2013-2015. For most of their models, the last 3G cars were from 2016. For instance, the 7-series also received an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot in late 2015.
The W222 is a great car, and I hope someone can figure out a way to retrofit a 4G module. The issue I see is to get that to communicate with Mbenz app servers.
BMW as an example began rolling out 4G LTE connectivity in its vehicles around 2013-2015. For most of their models, the last 3G cars were from 2016. For instance, the 7-series also received an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot in late 2015.
