No sound from front speakers & crackling
Recently purchased a W222 2019 S560 with the standard Burmester sound system and the noticed that there was no sound coming out of both the right tweeter on the A pillar as well as the speaker on the door panel.
In addition to no sound the speakers also make a crackling noise under these circumstances:
- Making a phone call using car play (replicated 100% percent of the time)
- Increasing the volume more than 75% when audio already playing (80% percent of the time)
- Accelerating hard onto a freeway (20% of the time)
They say that there is an open circuit on the harness and there is no power to the speaker, based on basic electrical engg knowledge, how can the speaker crackle is there is now power, would expect if there is some grounding issues..etc
Am I missing something here ?
Wanted to check if anyone else has experienced a similar issue ?
The dealership mentioned working on this and tracing the issue will cost a lot of $$$$.

My local dealership is saying that they are looking into it and potentially needing to replace the entire harness or even the control module.
I am questioning the validity of this and wanted to check on this forum if anyone else had a similar experience ?

First check the amplifier in the trunk. Remove the large connector, then spray both sides of the connector, meaning the wiring harness side and the amplifier side, with electrical contact cleaner, I use CRC brand but you can use any brand. Wait 5 minutes or so, then reassemble. This process corrected my left rear package shelf speaker problem a couple years ago. While the connector is apart, check for any corrosion on the connector or in the area of the amplifier. Also, check the ground strap in the area for a solid connection. I could be mistaken about the ground strap as it might be chassis ground throught he body of the amplifier, so check to be sure the bolts holding the amplifier in place are tight and secure.
If you have basic electrical skills there are some other steps you can take, but try this first.
