Parking brake sticking

I have a 2019 S560 with 45000 miles.

I was leaving my house the other morning ( and it was cold, below freezing) and noticed that the car was struggling to move forward and would come to a standstill with no pressure applied to accelerator. I did not know what was happening but then drove about a mile to work. It seemed to release but the rear passenger wheel had a burning smell and was hot.

I contacted MB dealer and had it taken there. They said it looked and worked find and reset it. It happened again yesterday in the cold, so I’m wondering if this has something to do with the cold temperature. I had to manually release the parking brake which should of released on its own.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I had this happen on my Genesis G90, the fix was to replace the parking brake module. The car was under warranty so no big deal. I'm surprised the dealer found nothing and I suspect you'll need a new module or actuator soon. Just curious, do you remember driving through standing water anytime before this happened?

There was a fault code that went off but then went away so they claim Mercedes said to just reset it and it should fix it. No standing water.

One hot stinky wheel says that wheel has an issue with the electric motor that applies/releases the parking brake.

MB can have another look at it. They shouldn’t be charging diagnosis for round two as they flat rated the first visit.

Expect replacement of the parking brake motor.
