My vision of 2021 S-Class tail lights

Hey folks,

This car is amazing and I wish I had a fraction of its tech in my current Mercedes cars (W140 and CLS55). I was surprised to see its tail lights. Here is my vision of 2021 S-Class tail lights. I know it's too late to change anything but I hope later they will come close to this design:

Nah, it's never too late, just give 'em a call...
But seriously, though, I think your vision looks better than the original.

Thank you!!

Also I noticed they can't fully drop the classical shapes like straight or parallel or horizontal lines. You see inside this rounded triangle there is a pretty conservative pattern - simple horizontal LED lines. Idk why they didn't want to create horizontal tail lights. It's not the first time I see this - conservative pattern inside non-conservative shape. It seems they just don't want to create the ultimate beauty and just keep playing with it while the right direction is so obvious. They already created a perfect Vision concept. Now just go and make your new flagship look like it. I see they mimicked the front 3 small rectangular LED lamps of the Vision but it seems for some reason they stopped perfecting it while designing the new S-Class.

There are some cars I personally don't like or it's "ok" but I still can't fall in love with it. Different brands, different models. Like Infiniti Q50 (headlights and tail lights), Mercedes W210 E-Class and W208 (headlights and tail lights), the new CLS (headlights), the first CLA (headlights and tail lights), Maybach 57 and the Maybach 62 (headlights), BMW E63 (headlights) etc. I'm afraid W223 will have the same fate with its strange tail lights. I do not wish them bad sales but I hope they change it with the facelifted model.

The current design of W223 S-Class is love or hate while. I think a more conservative and calm design gives you more than just 2 options.

Everything here is just my personal opinion.

A very thoughtful video Sergey and I do like your taillight design suggestion. I will say that the W223's horizontal taillights are a nod to the horizontal tail lights of the W126 S class which is my personal all time favorite S class. I've long learned to ignore some of MB's more recent design language starting in the mid 1990s and the W223's taillights will be no exception to that. I agree that the W223 has so many other things going for it and that it has essentially made everything else on the road obsolete.

I would have loved to have seen the new taillights look like the outgoing S Class coupe from 2014 to 2017>>>>.

I agree with you. The slim light design would be so much better.

Maybe they couldn’t do that without doing a full light bar because under US regulations the rear lights have to be a certain size. That’s why the only people with slim taillights have a full light bar. That said your design with a light bar would be better than what they delivered.

i get the EQS will go that way.
