I do have one question- when you are out and order a steak do you say "my engineer father said medium rare is the best so I'll take that please"?
Sorry but people who have no education or work experience in engineering and don't belong to major engineering organizations will never know more than the engineers that have such a resume. In your world, the earth is flat and cigarette smoking is safe. Because of this you totally fail to understand that both nuclear power and fossil fuels are not green sources of energy.

Take it easy
This thread has been sufficiently derailed. If you like to discuss clean energy, please do so in the off topic section.
This was about the Taycan and to some extend EV’s which have relevance to the new S Class and EQS from a cross shopping perspective.

I can vouch for cigarette smoking to not be safe

I totally agree with Wolfman that this particular thread needs to only be about the Taycan and the coming relevant MB products and not the larger clean energy issues.

I admit being really stoked about the Taycan when we first saw a concept of it a couple of years ago, but now that it's here.......meh. Not as if I would have bought one,out of my current price range, but hey...it's a PCAR!

You can get almost 300 miles on a road trip w/ the Taycan 4S on 21's which is sorta amazing for an EV. My brother has a Model Y and virtually never uses the Tesla supercharger network. Just has a 240v at home and he says he has zero range anxiety. Like the poster above, once you get in your daily routine, range isn't a problem. Porsche also has an agreement w/ Electrify America that the 1st 30 minutes of any charge is free. Take it fwiw.

This new video out today is sort of a interesting take on this whole issue:
