Phone Holders

The new s580 doesnt give us many option for phone holders except for the vents up top which are pretty far for comfort. What is everyone else doing for this issue?

Why would one take the phone from the pocket instead of using it via the car interface? For charging the wireless charging pad should be a better option than a phone holder. Anyway, I'm interested how others see the issue and if they have installed some holders.

Just one example of why you need a place to mount the phone within reach is when MBenz stopped placing the keypad under the palm rest pod just in front of the center console area. I've never been able to type in extension numbers to talk to a specific worker at a company. You can dial the main phone number by voice or with the scroller on the screen but when their phone system prompts for an ext. #, you have to rely on using your actual phone keypad to get the number to be accepted quick enough....otherwise, their phone system interrupts by saying your entry is not valid. Other examples when you must press a certain number to reach a certain department. They replaced it with a useless touchpad to go to favorites, skip tracks, etc. when they should have kept that area as a phone dial pad. or at least keep the little door it had so the keypad could be opened up for dialing numbers with real buttons. The W220 and 221 had that.

I've seen this argument before but have forgotten. Seems valid in the US, here everyone has their own cell phone number, no switches or even landlines. A pity if voice control cannot handle this scenario.
