Phantom “collision detected”

Howdy - 2022 S580, just got it a week ago. Ever since, I’ve been getting alerts in the MercedesMeConnect app that damage is detected and the details show “slight impact” but now pictures. I checked the car, could not identify any damage. In fact, a couple of the alerts came when the car was locked in my garage. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

Yes me too. I bought my car on Thursday. On Friday I noticed in the app “collision detected” at 2:09 PM on Thursday. Vehicle was on showroom floor at this time. I looked around vehicle. No damage. I deleted the occurrence this morning. Figured it was a glitch.

I got my car in July and got the notification a few weeks ago. Said the collision was in August. Maybe a glitch in the software?

I don't have the car and are only relying on the manual but have you activated collision photos from the menus? According to the manual photos are an option of the collision warning feature. Probably needs activation because of privacy rules on some countries.

Have you tried testing the alert, is a kick on the tyre enough? Perhaps a gentle push or does the car need to detect some higher acceleration? A pity if there are no photos when expected just because a default setting.

Well, since there was no commission, doubt the photos would help. Spoke with the dealer. Apparently this is very common with cars that were loaded into a truck (like mine was, for delivery to my house). A quick trip to the dealership and they’ll reset it and all good to go.

I was not after photos helping any previous case but wondering if you will get photos in the future if the car gets hit or something like that. I would test it to confirm that all settings are as expected. Not sure if one can trust the dealership configuring settings to your liking?

I park my car in a parking ramp with many cars zooming past and almost daily I get a collision message but not seen damage. I think the vibration does it maybe? Thanks

I've gotten a collision notification when I parked my GLE in a city garage, turns out a really loud aftermarket exhaust on a Nissan next to it had set it off. I guess it shook/vibrated the vehicle enough to scare it
