Dupont Silver Star Protection Treatment?
I'm about to accept delivery of a 2022 S580.
My sales consultant is offering an exterior protection and interior protection treatment by Dupont called Silver Star. The total cost is $795 for a 7 year warranty covering protection against exterior paint against bird droppings, tree sap, acid rain and water spots. The interior protection protects the seats against premature aging, fading and cracking and the carpets against staining. I couldn't find any information on Google about the treatment. Has anyone had any experience with this treatment or have any knowledge of it?~Blythe

A search in this site will yield a few related threads. Go and read. It seems the majority opinion is that it is just the dealer's way to get more money from you.
I think it depends on your driving habit (eg do you eat and drink a lot inside your car, do you always park inside or outside under trees, do you clean your car often).
Whether $795 for 7-year is a lot of money or not is quite subjective. Whether it is worth it or good value, it is hard to say.
Having more protection is, of course, better. But can you use the same money (or less) to have a local car detailer of good reputation do it for you?
2 more threads for you to read. One point mentioned is that the coating needs to be applied properly.

I appreciate your quick reply. I will read the links you provided to help me decide. While $795 is not a lot of money over a 7 year warranty period, I do not like to waste money at all. Thank you!
