Hello,
I ordered a 2021 S580V4 AMG in Mojave Silver and Macchiato Magma Grey Nappa Leather, 20" AMG multispoke Wheels, wood/leather steering wheel, and the 3D Technology Package with the advanced head-up display.
5 months later, the MB dealer called and requested I cancel the 3D package or they would need to cancel and return my refund. I took my deposit back.
So, 8 months later, I am ordering the 2022 version with basically the same configuration, but the Mojave Silver on the German website, looks more like strict silver than with a bit of champagne as in the 2021 version (I remembered in the showroom) Anyone knows if the Mojave Silver 2022 has changed over the Mojave SIlver (2021)?
Did this happen because there is a real gold exterior offered for extras with Kalahari Gold?
Finally, the current MB dealer told me that all "Nappa" leather interior options are not available for 2022. I can only pick black, brown, or white leather. No information is offered as to the type of leather it is.
Thanks for your help.

I'm sure its the same color, they wouldn't have changed it without changing the name.

I would honestly delay the order again and wait for Napa leather, or even find a current stock unit at another dealer. I imagine the leather will be MB's regular leather which can be found on S500 models which looks and feels less expensive and loses the cross-stitch pattern on both the seats and door panels. I (personally) would not buy an S-Class without Napa Leather.

I believe someone stated in another thread that the lack of nappa leather might have to do with the European supply issues. Some brands had to cease production as a whole because they couldn't source wire harness parts.

Are you referring to the Russian attack to Ukraine when talking about European supply issues? Ukraine has been a major supplier of wire harnesses. I doubt leather comes from Ukraine but they may well prepare interior parts.Originally Posted by ColeBlooded

I cannot think of any supply issues from other European countries excluding issues caused by limited silicon (chips) supply from outside of Europe or other supply issues caused by raw material availability from outside of Europe?
I don't know where leather comes for Mercedes cars. Would be interesting to know more about the material flow to the factory, main suppliers etc.

Yea. I wish MB would be more transparent about these things. Especially customers that have orders in place.Originally Posted by Diesel Benz
