Hands on steering wheel - capacitive?

I have a S560 and the lane assist is handy in cruise control - however I periodically get a bunch of nuisance warnings to keep the hands on the wheel as it doesn't detect enough steering input. My hands *are* on the wheel, it just doesn't detect enough torque, you almost have to fight it periodically which is annoying.

I see that they have moved to capacitive sensing on the new E-class to fix this issue, but haven't seen whether it's also implemented on the W223 - anybody know?

It's both capacitive and motion sensitive. If in cruise mode with auto lane keeping, simply touching the steering wheel when prompted will clear the prompt. If manually driving, with hands on the wheel at all times but insufficient motion is detected, the prompt is raised, requiring some steering input to clear. At least this has been my experience actively trying to determine a pattern.
